You are assured of a warm Yorkshire welcome at William & Victoria Restaurant and Wine Bar which is centrally located close to the historic Montpellier Quarter in the delightful spa town of Harrogate. Housed in an attractive traditional Yorkshire stone building, William & Victoria is one of Harrogate’s most popular and long-established independent restaurants. Owned and managed by the Straker family since 1982, front of house David Straker has been a regular presence behind the bar for many years providing friendly and attentive service.
Originally Harrogate’s first wine bar, today’s popular and vibrant venue is contemporary and stylish while retaining character features such as low ceilings and stone flagged floor. Old pictures and menu blackboards fill the walls which create a warm and cosy atmosphere. During the summer months a handful of tables and chairs occupy the pavement providing the perfect spot to relax with a drink and watch the busy world go by. The Wine Bar is open throughout the afternoon for drinks and tapas while lunch is served from midday until 2.30pm. For a more leisurely dining experience, the upstairs Restaurant (open Monday to Saturday from 5.30pm.) is spacious and elegant with its own dedicated bar. A private room is also available for business lunches and special occasion parties.
The award-winning Restaurant has deservedly gained a reputation for its superb cuisine sourcing the very best produce from Yorkshire farms and reputable local suppliers. The head chef and his talented team have designed a range of menus offering British classics with influences from around the world plus specially created seasonal dishes. Dietary requirements are also catered for including vegetarian (v) and gluten free (gf) which are clearly marked on the menus. Meals are freshly cooked to order and can be adapted for dairy free and vegan on request. The friendly and knowledgeable staff will do their best to accommodate your requests and are more than happy to advise and answer any questions regarding food preparation and ingredients. An impressive choice of delicious gluten free options are available across the menus including starters, main courses, side dishes, mouth watering desserts and tasty Yorkshire cheeseboard. In addition there is an extensive wine list together with locally made Yorkshire gins and a range of premium hand pulled beers to complement your wonderful dining experience at William and Victoria.
