About

A truly warm welcome awaits you at this delightful family owned country pub, which is ideally located in the heart of the picturesque village of Titchmarsh close to the historic market town of Oundle and within a stone’s throw of the A14, A605 and A45. Built of beautiful mellow stone, the cosy interior is tastefully decorated and furnished in contemporary country style while retaining such character features as exposed stone walls, beamed ceilings, stone flags, polished oak flooring and open fireplaces. The comfortable bar area provides seating for pre-dinner drinks or dining and leads through into two light and airy restaurant type areas known as the snug and garden rooms, one of which opens out onto the attractive patio and garden area, the perfect spot to relax with a drink in the warmer months.

The award winning Wheatsheaf is popular with locals and visitors alike and has deservedly gained a reputation for its excellent cuisine and first class friendly service. The head chef and his team provide delicious homemade food of quality using fresh, locally sourced produce whenever possible. The menu offers sandwiches (lunchtime only) with variety of fillings plus fries, starters & nibbles, favourite pub classics (including pies, fish & chips), grills (burgers, steaks), main meals (including pasta, chicken, meat and fish dishes), choice of sides, and irresistible homemade desserts. Daily specials boards are very popular too. Also a Freehouse, the well-stocked bar has a great selection of local cask ales, wines, gins and craft beers.

Dietary requirements are well catered for and much of the menu offers gluten free (gf) or gluten free option (gf opt) which can be adapted on request. Separate vegetarian and vegan menus are provided (vegan wine is also available) and meals can be adapted for other allergens including lactose and dairy free. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are more than happy to answer any questions regarding food preparation and ingredients and advise on menu choice.

Much enjoyed by the local community, this charming country pub offers something for everyone – it is family- and dog-friendly with wheelchair accessibility, baby changing facilities and ample parking. The restaurant and garden are also available for private functions and events.

“A beautiful venue serving delicious homemade food with a great range of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. Highly recommended.” …Gluten Free Dining
