About
Located in the heart of Clitheroe in the beautiful Ribble Valley, Holmes Mill is an amazing venue! A former textile mill, it has been skilfully redesigned to incorporate a unique collection of buildings housing the Bowland Brewery, a Beer Hall, the Food Hall Café, a bistro-style restaurant and hotel. It is simply a wonderful place in which to relax, socialise and enjoy the best of Lancashire food, drink and entertainment.
Holmes Mill is contemporary and stylish while retaining original features such as exposed stonework and lofty ceilings. Proud of its industrial past, carefully preserved pieces of textile machinery are showcased to great effect. An eclectic and fascinating mix of furnishings and decor successfully combine to create a vibrant yet sophisticated ambience.
The Beer Hall, with its feature length bar, is a great place to eat, drink and relax, whether it be in a cosy corner of the Chimney Room with its roaring log fire or gathered around one of the long communal tables in true Bavarian Beer Hall fashion. Food comes in all sizes and for all appetites – small plates and snacks to nibble with a beer, through to main meal classics. The menus cater for gluten free and vegetarian requirements and a separate gluten free menu is available. GF light bites include vegetable pakoras, chicken wings and sticky ribs. Among main course GF options are traditional beer battered fish and chips, steak frites and French fries, chicken dishes and an array of salads. Various accompanying side dishes are available too. Why not complete your fantastic dining experience with a delicious GF dessert, such as chocolate brownie or sticky toffee pudding both served with ice cream or a selection of sundaes. There’s even a children’s GF menu. In fact there is something for everyone at the remarkable Holmes Mill.
