A warm Welsh welcome awaits you at the Cross Foxes which is superbly located at the foot of Cadair Idris Mountain in the spectacular Snowdonia National Park. The present owners, Nicol and Dewi Gwynne, have totally refurbished the original Grade 11 listed stone building into an award-winning, contemporary and stylish venue. From the luxurious guest bedrooms through to the spacious lounge, impressive bar and dining area, the interior has been skilfully designed to incorporate everything expected of today’s discerning visitor while retaining the charming features of original stone walls, mellow wooden beams and an open log fire. For the warmer months there is an attractive decking area on which to relax and admire the stunning views.
The Cross Foxes is proud to offer seasonal, local produce of the highest quality including prizewinning butchery. The restaurant also caters for dietary requirements including those wishing to eat gluten free. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are more than happy to answer any questions regarding food preparation and ingredients. Options are clearly marked on the menu (GF) and many more can be adapted on request (GFR). Smaller portions for children are also available. Light Bites include Hot Rustic Rolls and Sandwiches with a choice of delicious fillings. Tempting GF Starters offer Bubble & Squeak Cake with Dressed Leaves & Horseradish Cream or Welsh Duck Rillette with Sourdough Toast. From the Grill GF choices include succulent Welsh Sirloin Steak served with Hand-cut chips & Garnish, and among GF Mains are Welsh Ale Battered Haddock with Hand-cut chips & Minted pea puree or Medley of Wild Mushroom Bourguignon with Mashed potato and fresh vegetables. In addition, a selection of sides are available including Garlic Focaccia, Onion Rings and Sweet Potato Fries.
