Tucked away in a quiet street but in the heart of Brighton’s vibrant city centre is the Caxton Arms, a traditional pub full of character with origins dating from 1862. With its fascinating history and quirky features, it is very popular with locals and visitors alike for its good food and drink, friendly staff and wonderful informal atmosphere. The interior has an abundance of rich mellow wood, beamed ceilings, comfy leather armchairs and cosy corners in which to relax. There are books and games provided too. The well-stocked bar is located centrally and a staircase leads to an outside mezzanine balcony, the perfect spot to relax with a drink in the summer months. Beneath is a cosy courtyard with contemporary wall art, a great place to socialise. In addition there is a large function room with bar suitable for private occasions of all kinds. A true community pub, live music events and quiz nights are held regularly.
Head chef Viktor and his enthusiastic team are proud to offer delicious, freshly cooked meals using only the finest ingredients and locally sourced produce whenever possible. A variety of menus include sharing platters, small plates, main dishes (meat, poultry, fish, seafood, vegetarian), pub classics (e.g. fish and chips), wraps, an impressive choice of burgers, pizzas and tempting desserts. There is also a Kids Menu and the award-winning Sunday Roast is not to be missed! In addition there is a fine selection of real ales, draft beers, wines and spirits including a fantastic selection of gins.
Those with special dietary requirements are also catered for and offer gluten free (GF), vegetarian (V) and vegan (Ve) options.
