The Bistro Bar’s extensive lunch and supper menu will satisfy every taste: from light lunchtime bites to heartier supper delights, all served in the warmth and comfort of the Bistro Bar with it’s roaring real fire when the weather is cooler.
The Restaurant
The award-winning restaurant at Burts Hotel is one of Scotland’s finest. Here you will find a truly gastronomic experience in elegant surroundings. The restaurant at Burts Hotel has been awarded two AA Rosettes every year since 1995 for its outstanding food and drink.
Head Chef Trevor Williams, heads the team in the Burts Hotel kitchen. Trevor came to Burts from the Rhubarb Restaurant at Prestonfield House Hotel in Edinburgh. Trevor’s years of experience have been gained from working in some of Scotland’s most prestigious hotels and restaurants.

Lunch served in bar from 12 noon, last orders at 2.00pm every day
Supper served in bar from 6.00pm, last orders at 9.00pm. Friday and Saturday night last orders 9:30pm.
Restaurant not open at lunchtime Monday – Saturday. Sunday 12 noon, last orders at 2.00pm
Evenings from 7.00pm – 9:00pm every night, last orders at 9.00pm.

Business Events
Both the hotel Restaurant and Private Dining Room are available for business meetings, conferences, and seminars. Groups of up to 50 delegates can be accommodated and a range of facilities including meeting room equipment, WiFi, AV projectors and screens, can be provided. The hotel also has free private parking for a number of cars.
Intimate Weddings & Celebrations
Burts Hotel is the prefect venue to celebrate your marriage. The hotel will be delighted to arrange the necessary licenses for a civil wedding ceremony, should you wish to marry in the hotel itself, and both the Restaurant and the Private Dining Room are at your disposal for your wedding breakfast.
Or, for something a little different, why not hold your ceremony at the historic Melrose Abbey, just a stones thrown from Burts and return to the hotel for your reception.
Funeral Teas & Private Events
We appreciate that funeral teas and wakes can be very moving events. Here at Burts, we aim to provide a respectful and sympathetic service for the bereaved family and friends during this difficult time.
