Situated in the South Lakes on the outskirts of the charming village of Haverthwaite, the family-run Rusland Pool Hotel is a truly delightful venue. It’s idyllic location in the Lake District National Park makes it an excellent choice if you’re looking for a base from which to explore the region and its wonderful lakes and fells.
A warm welcome awaits you in the bar, full of character with plenty of mellow wood, beams, soft lighting and a cosy log burner for those cooler months. Diners can relax and enjoy the ambience here or choose the more contemporary conservatory area which overlooks an attractive patio and gardens with ample seating, much enjoyed in the summer.
The hotel and restaurant have gained an excellent reputation for their first class amenities and high quality food. Ingredients are sourced locally from trusted suppliers and a range of dietary requirements is also catered for including gluten free, lactose free, dairy free, vegetarian and vegan.
In 2017 the hotel received silver in the Free From Food Awards with “Over 69 gluten and dairy free options available”. Their Free From Menu is designed with you in mind so you can eat, drink and relax with the reassurance that the Rusland Pool eatery and bar is catering specially for you. A Free From Children’s Menu is also available. With such an impressive choice of free from options it will be difficult to choose but here are a few examples to tempt the gluten free diner.
To Start – A choice of appetisers, Soup of the Day, Prawn Cocktail, Sticky BBQ ribs, Mushrooms & Bacon in a soya garlic sauce.
The Main Event – Choice of steaks cooked to your liking with assortment of sides and sauces, Gammon steaks, delicious Pasta dishes, Beef Stroganoff, numerous Chicken choices, Fish dishes and burgers. Also a variety of Salads and Baked Potatoes with tasty fillings and garnish.
Desserts – the choice is endless and quite irresistible but to name just a few – Homemade Pancakes and Maple Syrup, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Berry Pavlova. For sharing try the Fondue, a warm toffee sauce with selection of Dipping Delights.
