About
Located in the picture postcard village of Northill, Bedfordshire, The Crown is a traditional family run country pub and restaurant overlooking the delightful village green. This popular venue has earned a reputation for its superb cuisine and offers a separate gluten free menu.
Originally dating from the 18th century, The Crown has recently undergone a contemporary refurbishment but retains its unique character and charm being full of homely features including stone floors, exposed brickwork, wooden beams, a copper bar and two log burners for those wintry days. For those summer months there is a large attractive garden with patio and comfortable seating where you can relax while the children are happily occupied in their own play area with a range of equipment to keep them entertained.
Open daily, The Crown caters for snacks, lunches and evening meals. All dishes are freshly prepared using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. There are also daily specials, a children’s menu, great guest ales and an extensive wine list.
The fantastic separate gluten free menu offers a most impressive choice. Lunch options include sandwiches with a range of fillings, paninis, delicious puddings and a selection of cheeseboards. For evening meals you are spoilt for choice! Try nibbles, deli boards and starters such as Atlantic prawn cocktail with Marie Rose sauce and bread, or Tandoori spiced halloumi cheese with saag aloo potatoes and yogurt dip. Main meals include cider battered fish and chips, baked Scottish salmon and roast cod loin, or for meat lovers choose from steak, chicken, lamb, burgers and much more, all accompanied by a selection of fresh, seasonal vegetables. To finish off your dining experience there is a mouth watering selection of desserts to tempt you.
You are assured of a warm welcome at The Crown where the friendly and knowledgeable staff are more than happy to help you choose from the gluten free menu. The utmost care is taken to ensure that you can relax and enjoy your dining experience with us.
